Darrell Malott, owner of Toler’s Auto Body in San Bernadino, California, chaired the Collision Industry Conference in 1991 and 1992 and the Society of Collision Repair Specialists in 1996 and 1997. Malott also served as president of the California Autobody Association. CIC co-founder Jeff Hendler has named him, with Jack Caldwell, among those involved in the I-CAR conference episode that led to CIC’s creation. Malott died in January 1999 at age 46.
