Al Estorga

Class of 1989

Al Estorga was a third-generation collision repairer who ran Estorga’s Collision Repair Center in Long Beach, Calif., from 1970. He held every executive office of the California Autobody Association and was its president in 1983. After being told an I-CAR conference was not the place to raise a repairer concern, he proposed a standing forum for such issues. That forum became the Collision Repair Conference, founded in 1983 with Jeff Hendler and others and renamed the Collision Industry Conference in 1987. Estorga was its first chairman, serving in 1984 and 1985. He died Sept. 6, 2024, at 79.
