Jeff Hendler was a founder of the Collision Industry Conference, which began in 1983 as the Collision Repair Conference. He helped organize it with Al Estorga, served as its chairman in 1987 and 1988 and was long its administrator, incorporating the organization to manage its finances and protect past chairs. He was executive director of the Autobody Craftsman Association and chairman of the Society of Collision Repair Specialists in 1993 and 1994, and he was credited as a founder of I-CAR, SCRS, CIECA and the Hall of Eagles. A former life insurance agent, he ran J.D. Hendler/Associates, a consulting firm, and spoke at industry seminars. SCRS gave him its Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003.
