Rex Womble

Connie “Rex” Womble owned B&B Body & Paint in Austin, Texas, and was active in collision industry leadership for more than four decades. A founding member of the Society of Collision Repair Specialists, he was its fifth chairman, in 1987 and 1988, and returned to the SCRS board from 2010 to 2016. He also chaired the I-CAR board of directors and took part in the Collision Industry Conference for many years. Colleagues credited him with mentoring younger shop owners and industry leaders. He retired from the business in 1998, and a memorial fund in his name was established at the Collision Repair Education Foundation. He died Nov. 12, 2023, at 90.
