Bill Wicklund

Bill Wicklund was a Liberty, Mo., collision repairer who entered the trade in 1959 and opened his own shop there in 1970, holding some of the earliest direct repair relationships with Farmers and Allstate. One of the original members of the Society of Collision Repair Specialists, he helped launch it with Lirel Holt, John Loftus and Jeff Cowan and served as its chairman in 1985 and 1986. He promoted I-CAR training at its first state meetings. When Holt launched CARSTAR in 1989, Wicklund was its first franchisee, and he later spent 10 years on the CARSTAR advisory board. He received I-CAR Hall of Fame recognition in 1994 and SCRS Lifetime Honorary Membership.
